Primary reason behind it is ‘No proper demarcation of border between these two countries’. They have developed proper mechanism (Like hotline and some agreements that guide them during stand offs) to deal with border issues. Recently the standoff that began in May continuing till today converted into violent attacks on each other on 15th June 2020. This is after 45 years that two countries’ army involved in violent confrontations that resulted in 20 Indian army personnel death, at least 80 injured and 10 were captured by PLA (Chinese army). Later on they were released but this incident will leave its trail on Indo-China relationship. It has lessened faith on each other. Last time such violent confrontation took place in 1975 leaving huge loss of lives and assets for both sides. The question is how this happened despite talks at military and diplomatic levels were going on. Both are alleging each other for breach of mutual understandings.

Really it's another move by China to show its aggression against one of its neighbors
